Marriott Supports Humanitarian Relief Efforts
In response to the war in Ukraine, Marriott International has been mobilizing to help those in need. Marriott has supported and will continue to support humanitarian efforts through relief organizations working to provide meals, health care, basic necessities and more. Hotels have donated over $2.75M in cash and in-kind support, inclusive of 14,350 room nights to house those impacted by the war, as well as supplies and funds to local organizations.
The company stands with all of its associates who are being impacted by the war in Ukraine and is committing $1M from its relief fund to support them and their families. Funds have already helped Ukrainian associates’ family members move into new countries and receive vital support such as rental assistance, food vouchers, and other essential items.
Marriott Bonvoy members can donate points here to join the company in supporting UNICEF and World Central Kitchen as they help those impacted. Marriott Bonvoy will be matching donations point-for-point up to 100 million points donated this year. With this match, over 55M points have been donated so far.
Marriott Spotlighted for Commitment to Doing Good
In May, Marriott was included on two prestigious lists for its commitment to sustainability and social impact. Fast Company highlighted Marriott in its World Changing Ideas Awards for its efforts to train its workforce to recognize and respond to the signs of human trafficking. Marriott was also spotlighted in the 100 Best Corporate Citizens List produced by 3BL Media, which names the top 100 U.S.-based large companies that are leading the way in supporting their workforce, the environment, and communities.
Marriott Helps to Clean the World – And Support the Local Community
During its annual Associate Appreciation Week, Marriott HQ associates packed over 4,000 hygiene kits in collaboration with Clean the World. These kits, full of shampoo, soap, and other sanitary items, will be donated to Marriott’s local partner the Capital Area Food Bank, which will distribute these kits to those in-need throughout the local community. |
