Development Update: Week of February 8, 2021

February 8th, 2021

Marriott International Headquarters & Marriott Hotel

Week of February 8, 2021

On the exterior façade, installation of the curtain wall continues and is now reaching the northside roof. The entire glass curtain wall will be completed in spring. At the base of the building along Wisconsin Avenue, the lobby’s glass wall is underway, with structural curtain wall supports and glass being installed by a small crane. This work is taking place within the boundaries of the construction site and no lane closures are anticipated.

On the office building’s rooftop, additional roofing and miscellaneous steelwork are now complete, and installation of the green roof continues. The tower crane hovering above the office building will also soon be removed.

Inside the buildings, the buildout continues with the installation of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing work ongoing, and with a total of seventeen elevators inside the office building, and another five inside the hotel, several elevators are now complete.

Meanwhile along Woodmont Avenue, the telecommunications infrastructure is now complete and awaiting the installation of telecom cables. The only remaining underground work includes the installation of new traffic signaling.

Please note that the team is aware of multiple nearby water shutdowns reported by WSSC in recent weeks, all of which were not related to the project.
