The Latest Construction Update
Week of June 29, 2020

The office building’s 13th floor is being finished, just as the hotel building reaches its 12th floor. The project approaches a major milestone as the hotel building is scheduled to top-out in July.

Deliveries of the curtain wall and glass continue for the exterior façade of both buildings, and installation is already underway. Along both Wisconsin Avenue and Woodmont Avenue, hoists are now operational on the office building and hotel building respectively to facilitate the delivery of materials. In addition to the covered walkways, netting has now been installed throughout the building to protect from the unlikely chance of any falling debris.

Meanwhile, contractors are hard at work with mechanical, electrical, plumbing, masonry, and more inside both the office and hotel buildings. Outside, preparations are being made for the installation of telecommunications ductbanks along Woodmont and Norfolk avenues, which is anticipated to begin in the coming weeks.

Your Safety Around the Construction Site

Throughout this project, approved Montgomery County and State Highway traffic and pedestrian control plans ensure minimal impact to traffic flow around the construction site. Along Woodmont and Norfolk Avenues, walkways with overhead protection now allow for uninterrupted pedestrian access throughout the project. Pedestrian access is now aided by wayfinding signage at the entrances of these covered walkways. Along Wisconsin Avenue, pedestrians are redirected to use the east sidewalk for their safety. Access along the west side has been closed following State Highway approvals. For available walkways around the construction site along Woodmont, Norfolk, and Wisconsin Avenues, view the pedestrian site logistics plan here. The safety of commuters and pedestrians around the construction site is vitally important, so we ask that you please be vigilant and pay close attention to detour signs and flagging operators as they help to ensure your safety, direct traffic, and minimize disruptions.
