Development Update: Week of December 3, 2018

November 30th, 2018

Marriott International Headquarters

Week of December 3, 2018:

This week, regular operations continue, including equipment and material deliveries, environmental and safety controls, hauling and drilling operations. Beginning in January, the next phase of excavation is anticipated to begin, including blasting of the development site’s bedrock. This work will only be performed during daytime hours.

Next week, the development team is meeting with Montgomery County officials to discuss plans for storm water management installation and associated traffic controls. The work is expected to begin in late January.

Lane and sidewalk closures remain in place along sections of Woodmont, Norfolk and Wisconsin Avenues (view map of closures here), and we anticipate the closures to remain for an extended period of time through project completion. These closures provide access for construction activities, as well as safe pedestrian passage.

As a reminder, please pay close attention to signage and flagging operations as conditions may change from time to time. We ask for your patience during periods of inconvenience. Our number one priority is pedestrian safety in and around the project site.

Monthly construction updates

On December 4 at 6:00 p.m., the developers and general contractor will hold their first monthly construction update for the general public. The update will take place in downtown Bethesda at the Montgomery County Regional Service Center, on the second floor in rooms A and B, located at 4805 Edgemoor Lane, Bethesda, MD 20814.
