Development Update: Week of November 12, 2018

November 9th, 2018

Marriott International Headquarters

Week of November 12, 2018:

On Monday, November 12, in observance of the Veteran’s Day federal holiday, development activities will commence at 9 a.m., however, no drilling, hauling or other major operations will occur. Any activity on site will not impact the Veteran’s Day ceremony taking place between 10:30 a.m. and 12:00 p.m. place nearby at Veterans Park.

In December, the general contractor and developers will begin hosting monthly community meetings in Bethesda. We invite local residents, business owners and anyone interested in the development project to meet the team, ask questions and share feedback. More details about the community meetings will be announced in an upcoming development update.

Construction of the Marriott International Headquarters development site continues, including equipment and material deliveries, environmental and safety controls, excavation, hauling and drilling operations.

Meanwhile, lane and sidewalk closures remain in place along sections of Woodmont, Norfolk and Wisconsin Avenues (view map of closures here), and we anticipate the closures to remain for an extended period of time through project completion. These closures provide access for construction activities, as well as safe pedestrian passage. As a reminder, please pay close attention to signage and flagging operations as conditions may change from time to time. We ask for your patience during periods of inconvenience. Our number one priority is pedestrian safety in and around the project site.
