Development Update: Week of November 25, 2019

NOTICE OF CONSTRUCTION ACTIVITY
Marriott International Headquarters

Week of November 25, 2019

This week, there will be no street closures surrounding the construction site, and no work will be performed outside the site boundaries. Meanwhile, large-scale concrete pouring operations continue and are scheduled this week on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday beginning at 5:30 a.m. No work will be performed on Thanksgiving Day, but the job site will reopen and work will resume this Friday, Nov. 29.

Only minor underground utility work is left to do along Wisconsin Avenue, including the installation of the final sanitation line to the development site. This work will soon be scheduled in cooperation with WSSC, and at that time, additional details will be shared regarding any noise, service disruptions, or lane closures that may be necessary related to this work. Once the underground utility work is completed, all future work is anticipated to be contained within the site for the duration of construction. Each phase of the underground utility work is estimated in this site plan.

Throughout this project, the approved Montgomery County and State Highway traffic and pedestrian control plans will ensure minimal impact to traffic flow around the construction site. Meanwhile, sidewalk closures remain in place along sections of Woodmont, Norfolk and Wisconsin Avenues (view map of closures here).

Our number one priority is the safety and security of commuters and pedestrians around the construction site. During this time, please be vigilant and pay close attention to detour signs and flagging operators as they direct traffic to minimize disruptions. Failure to follow these directions may risk your safety or even result in a citation from local law enforcement.
