Development Activities Begin May 30
Underground utility work
On May 30, underground utility work is scheduled to begin along Wisconsin, Woodmont, and Norfolk Avenues and is scheduled to last approximately two months. On May 22, the required 5-day notice was posted by the utility contractors for the work on Wisconsin Avenue.
During this time, there will be periodic and temporary sidewalk and lane closures, including the west side of Wisconsin Avenue (southbound), Woodmont Avenue, and Norfolk Avenue. Signage will be placed around the work site during any closures. Drivers and pedestrians are encouraged to seek alternate routes throughout this work period.
Pedestrians walking along the west side of Wisconsin Avenue should be advised there will not be signaled crossing over Wisconsin Avenue between Norfolk Avenue and Old Georgetown Road.
Demolition on the construction site is scheduled to begin as early as June 18 and is scheduled to last approximately eight weeks. During this time, sidewalks and lanes along Wisconsin, Woodmont, and Norfolk avenues will be temporarily closed for the safety of pedestrians. The required 30-day notice for demolition was posted at the construction site on May 15.
Construction is scheduled to begin in July and is scheduled to last for three years. Additional disruptions as we finish the interior of the building may continue for an additional year after construction is completed. We will share additional details as needed.
